This weekend my classmates Alyssa Blank, Jessie Krier, Brittany Gabey, Mallory Westmoreland, Sharron Battle and I were challenged with redesigning and repackaging a product in 48 hours. We chose to honor the bee.

This piece is actually one in a set of two. I am trying to express the idea of thinking things through, in general. The finished set will be the piece above and a second piece that mirrors it in yellow [coming soon!]. I chose a progression of blue hues to indicate the activity [if not distress] that comes from acting before thinking. The ‘domino’-looking pieces in each panel are actually letters in Apple Braille font that spell out ‘plan’.

Here is the skeletal version of my font ‘Say’.  The funniest bit of making this is my inner radio, playing ‘Say, Say, Say…’ over and over in my head.

‘Say’ is my newest font set. I am using it first in a postcard set. As technology changes our lifestyle, why not remind each other how nice it is to see a note in the mailbox. ;)

Ah, the good old days… This is one of the very first fonts I made. I am one that grew up obsessed with letters, type, and handwriting. ‘Robotic’ [as I first called it] is quite the nostalgic piece. It signifies [to me] the moment I finally found the one thing that I adore obsessing over.  If you know me personally, you realize that I am full of energy and lovingly deemed ‘ADD’, socially. This font allowed me to realize that I can completely lose all concept of time and the outside world to design. I get up and walk away feeling refreshed and satisfied and ready to see more, learn more, and create more.

This is a logo I posted in my former blog logo. I really enjoyed making this piece in honor of Maki Sushi - one of my favorite local eats.   A beautiful dining experience deserves a logo that not only makes sense, but maybe makes you hungry for sushi, too.
